Privacy
TovoType is local-first. Core dictation and text polishing run on your Mac, while the website and purchase flow collect only limited data needed to operate the service.
What we collect
Depending on how you use TovoType, we may collect limited website usage data, purchase and licensing records, support emails, and technical information needed to operate the website, downloads, and app licensing flow.
Website
The website may use standard hosting logs and basic operational telemetry needed to serve pages, diagnose reliability issues, and protect against abuse. This may include technical data such as IP address, browser, device, and referring page.
The app
TovoType is designed so audio, transcript text, and optional polish stay on-device by default. When you activate, validate, or deactivate a license, or when the app checks for updates, the app sends only the limited data needed for those requests.
Purchases and licensing
Purchases are handled through Creem, which acts as merchant of record for checkout, billing, and payment processing. We may receive or share limited purchase and license information such as transaction identifiers, email address, license status, activation data, and support details needed to fulfill purchases, manage licenses, prevent abuse, and provide support.
Why we use data
We use data to operate the website and app, fulfill purchases, activate and validate licenses, provide support, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.
Third parties
We use third-party services only where needed to operate TovoType, such as Creem for checkout and billing, Cloudflare for hosting and delivery, and standard email tools for support.
Retention
We retain purchase, licensing, and support records for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, investigate fraud or abuse, and meet legal, tax, or accounting obligations.
Your rights
