Privacy boundaries
Capture happens on your Mac, without adding a participant to Zoom, Meet, Teams, Slack, or FaceTime.
TovoType uses the familiar macOS window picker, records your microphone and the selected app’s audio, and never saves screen pixels.
Audio, transcripts, speaker analysis, summaries, decisions, and action items stay on your Mac by default. Your first recording starts immediately while a small local speaker model prepares in the background.
Temporary microphone and system-audio files are removed when local processing finishes, whether it succeeds or fails. Transcripts and notes remain until you delete the meeting.
Speaker separation can be imperfect during overlapping speech or in noisy rooms. Labels start as You, Speaker 2, Speaker 3, and so on; you can rename or merge them. Always inform participants and obtain any consent required where you record.
